♕ How ELO Rankings Work
Our UFC fighter rankings use the ELO rating system to provide objective, performance-based power rankings. Unlike official UFC rankings determined by media voting, our system calculates ratings purely from fight results.
Every fighter starts at 1000 ELO. After each fight, ratings adjust based on outcome and opponent strength. KO/submissions earn bonus points, and title fights are worth 3x normal value. The system is updated automatically after every UFC event.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How are UFC fighter rankings calculated?
ELO ratings are based on wins, losses, finish bonuses, opponent quality, and title fight multipliers. The system rewards beating strong opponents and penalizes losses to lower-ranked fighters. Rankings update automatically after every UFC event.
Are these official UFC rankings?
No, these are independent performance-based rankings. Official UFC rankings use media panel voting. Our ELO system is purely data-driven and objective, providing a complementary perspective on fighter performance.
What does "Peak ELO" mean?
Peak ELO is the highest ELO rating a fighter has ever achieved in their career. It represents their best form. You can sort by Peak ELO to see who has reached the highest levels of performance, regardless of their current rating.
How often are rankings updated?
Rankings are recalculated after every UFC event. Each fight result triggers an ELO adjustment for both fighters involved, so the rankings always reflect the most recent results.
