    Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the fight statistics on this page come from?
Every metric is derived from official UFC bout records, with significant strikes, takedowns, control time, and finishes logged round by round for thousands of fights. We aggregate that raw data to produce the leaderboards, division breakdowns, and accuracy rankings you see across the hub.
What is the difference between significant strikes and total strikes?
Significant strikes count all distance strikes plus power shots in the clinch and on the ground, excluding short jabbing or pawing punches thrown while grappling. Most of our striking leaderboards use significant strikes because they better reflect meaningful, damage-dealing offense.
How is the ELO rating calculated for fighters?
Each fighter starts from a baseline rating that rises with wins and falls with losses, weighted by the strength of the opponent they faced. Beating a higher-rated fighter earns more points than beating a lower-rated one, so the system rewards quality of competition rather than just a padded record.
How often are these stats updated?
The leaderboards and ELO ratings refresh as new event results are processed into our database, typically within a day of each UFC card. That means rankings, finish-rate trends, and division stats stay current with the latest fights rather than reflecting a frozen snapshot.
