About Most Body Strikes Landed in UFC History

Career body strikes landed, minimum 150 across at least 5 statted UFC bouts

This leaderboard ranks UFC fighters by total body strikes landed, read straight from the round-by-round head, body and leg split recorded for every scored round. Each round stores its body record as landed of attempted; those are summed across a fighter's whole UFC career. To appear, a fighter must have landed at least 150 body strikes across at least five bouts that carry a stat record, and the fifty highest totals are shown. Only strikes a fighter landed are counted here - what they absorbed is a different question and deliberately not this board's.

Read the total next to the pace

A career total on its own rewards longevity. Donald Cerrone's body-strike total took 38 statted UFC bouts to build; Joanna Jedrzejczyk reached a similar figure in 15. Neither figure is more honest than the other. The total answers who has attacked the body most across a career; the pace answers whose gameplan it genuinely is, which is why this board is best read next to strikes landed per minute.

The body is thrown at far less often than the head - site-wide there are roughly six head strike attempts for every body attempt - but it is far easier to hit: about 69 percent of body strikes land, against roughly 36 percent to the head, because the torso is the largest target and the one that cannot duck. A fighter high on this board has made a deliberate stylistic choice, which is what makes the body board the most revealing of the three target splits.

Read this board next to head strikes and leg strikes to complete the target split, next to strike volume to separate the body puncher from the fighter who simply throws more of everything, and next to striking accuracy for the whole-body picture. The ELO rankings and the wider UFC stats hub carry the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who has the most body strikes landed in UFC history?
Max Holloway, with 899 body strikes. Second: Angela Hill (763). Third: King Green (541). Counted from UFC bouts recorded on MMA.SOCIAL — UFC appearances only, not a fighter's full professional record.
What counts as a body strike, and where do the numbers come from?
A body strike is any significant strike that lands on the torso: body kicks, knees to the midsection, hooks to the liver and straight punches to the chest all count. Every scored UFC round records significant strikes split by target into head, body and leg, each as landed of attempted, and this page sums the body column across a fighter's whole UFC career. The three targets always add up to the fighter's significant strikes landed, and absorbed strikes are never counted here.
Why does a fighter need 150 body strikes and 5 bouts to appear?
Fighters throw at the head roughly six times as often as at the body, so the floor matches the leg board's 150 rather than the head board's 500. The five-bout minimum stops a fighter with a single busy statted appearance from posting a per-fight rate no real career could sustain.
Doesn't the raw total just reward a long career?
Partly. A career total grows with every bout, so a fighter who attacks the body a dozen times a fight can match one who does it thirty times simply by fighting more often. Donald Cerrone, for example, built his body-strike total over 38 statted UFC bouts, while Joanna Jedrzejczyk reached a similar figure in 15. The total tells you who has done it most; the pace tells you whose game the body attack actually is.
Why do body strikes land so much more often than head strikes?
Because the torso is the largest target and the one that cannot slip. Across every statted UFC round about 69 percent of body strikes land, against roughly 36 percent to the head, so a fighter high on this board has made a deliberate stylistic choice rather than simply throwing more.
