What does Pound for Pound mean?
Pound for Pound (P4P) rankings compare fighters across all weight classes as if size didn't matter. It answers the question: who is the best fighter in the sport right now, regardless of weight class?
How is Current ELO different from Peak ELO?
Current ELO is a fighter's rating right now, reflecting recent performance. Peak ELO is the highest rating they ever achieved. P4P uses Current ELO because it ranks who's best right now. The GOAT rankings use Peak ELO for all-time greatness.
How often are rankings updated?
Rankings update automatically after every UFC event. When fight results are recorded, ELO ratings recalculate immediately.
How much more is a title fight worth?
Championship fights carry more weight because they represent the highest level of competition. An undisputed title win is multiplied by 1.25 and given a flat bonus of around 16 rating points; interim, BMF and tournament belts count for less at 1.1x. All bonuses combined are capped at plus 45 percent in a title fight.
