The Most Strikes Ever Landed in One UFC Fight

Some performances are so relentless they redraw the record book. This page tracks the single greatest striking outputs in tracked UFC history — first by a single fighter, then by both fighters combined — measured strictly by significant strikes landed, the power punches, kicks, knees and elbows thrown with intent to damage.

The single-fighter record is a monument to volume and durability: to land 300 or 400 significant strikes, a fighter needs a five-round canvas, an iron pace, and an opponent tough enough to survive the onslaught to a decision. The combined view instead celebrates the two-way wars — the bouts where neither fighter took a backward step and the total strike count spiraled into the hundreds.

How these records are measured

Each record is the sum of a fighter's significant strikes across every round of a single bout, drawn from official per-round fight statistics. Use the Single Fighter and Combined tabs to switch views, and filter by division to see the striking records within a specific weight class. Every row links to the fight itself, where the round-by-round breakdown shows exactly when the volume came.

Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as a significant strike?
A significant strike is any strike thrown at distance, plus the power strikes landed in the clinch and on the ground; the light pawing and control shots that make up the rest of the total-strike count are left out. This board sums significant strikes landed, with the number thrown shown beside each figure.
What is the difference between the single and combined records?
The single-fighter view ranks the most significant strikes one fighter landed in a single bout, while the combined view totals both fighters in the same fight. Combined records reward two-way firefights where both athletes threw huge volume, whereas single records often reward one fighter dominating a durable opponent over five rounds.
Do these records cover the entire history of the UFC?
They cover every UFC bout that has full round-by-round statistics, back to 1994, and every round of each bout counts. A small number of very early or incompletely tracked fights have no per-round data at all, and those cannot appear on any record board.
Why do five-round fights dominate the single-fight strike records?
More rounds means more time to accumulate strikes, so championship and main-event bouts scheduled for five rounds give volume strikers up to 25 minutes to pile up numbers. That is why title fights and headliners featuring pressure fighters like Max Holloway repeatedly appear near the top of these single-fight leaderboards.
