50 record performances

The most significant strikes ever landed in a single five-minute round — by one fighter, and by both fighters combined.

The Most Strikes Ever Landed in One UFC Round

Five minutes is the smallest complete unit in mixed martial arts, and it is where the sport's most extreme bursts of violence live. This page isolates the single busiest rounds ever recorded — first by one fighter, then by both fighters combined — measured strictly by significant strikes landed.

Round records reward something different from fight records. A five-round war lets a pressure fighter accumulate a monstrous total over twenty-five minutes, but a round record is pure rate: how much damage can one athlete pour on inside a single, uninterrupted five-minute window. That is why these lists surface firefights and desperate rallies as often as they surface dominant title performances.

How these records are measured

Each entry is one fighter's significant strikes inside one scored round, taken from official per-round fight statistics. Use the Single Fighter and Combined tabs to switch between one athlete's output and the two-way total, and filter by division to see the record within a weight class. Every row shows the round it happened in and links straight to the fight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which rounds count toward the single-round strike records?
Only rounds from bouts fought entirely over five-minute rounds, the format the UFC adopted at UFC 21 in July 1999. The no-time-limit and long-round bouts of the 1990s, with single rounds of 10 to 31 minutes, are left out because one of those rounds is not comparable to a modern five minutes.
How is a round record different from a fight record?
A fight record adds up every round of a bout, so five-round main events naturally dominate it. A round record isolates the single most productive five minutes anyone has ever had, which means a three-round fight — or even a single explosive round in a losing effort — can top the list.
Does the round number affect the record?
No. Every scored round is treated equally, whether it is round one or a championship round five. We show which round each performance came from so you can see the pattern: some fighters peak early behind a fast start, while others post their biggest numbers late as opponents fade.
Do the single and combined views rank the same rounds?
No. The single view ranks one fighter's output in a round, while the combined view adds both fighters together for that same round, so it rewards two-way firefights where both athletes were landing rather than one-sided beatings.
