Most Combined Takedown Attempts in a UFC Round
The most takedown attempts ever packed into one five-minute round — every shot tried, finished or stuffed, by a single fighter and by both fighters combined.
The Most Takedown Attempts in a Single UFC Round
Takedowns landed record the grappling that worked. Takedown attempts record the pressure itself — the level changes, the failed entries, the re-shots against the fence. Narrowed to one round, that pressure becomes a density measurement: how many times can a wrestler go to the legs before the horn.
This is where the round view separates from the fight view. Across a full bout, totals belong to whoever had the most minutes to build them, which hands the ceiling to five-round main events. Over a single round nobody has extra time to spend, so the ranking answers a narrower question — whose five minutes were the most relentless — and a prelim wrestler chasing a contract can answer it as loudly as a champion.
How these records are measured
Each row is one fighter's takedown attempts inside one scored round, taken from official round-by-round statistics. The Single Fighter tab isolates one athlete; Combined adds both corners together to find rounds where the wrestling ran in both directions. Filter by division to see the mark within a weight class, and follow any row through to the full fight.
