About Most Accurate Strikers in UFC History

This leaderboard ranks UFC fighters by significant strike accuracy, the share of their attempted significant strikes that actually landed. Every figure is rebuilt from the round-by-round record of each fighter's career, summing landed strikes and attempted strikes separately before dividing, so the percentage reflects a whole career rather than an average of averages. Only fighters with at least 500 career significant strike attempts qualify for the default view, and the high-volume tab raises that bar to 1,500 attempts for fighters who have proved it across thousands of exchanges.

    What accuracy actually measures

Accuracy is a measure of shot selection, not of power or of skill in the abstract. A fighter who waits, reads range, and throws only when the opening is real will post a far higher percentage than one who throws constantly to keep an opponent honest. That is why heavyweights and patient counter-strikers dominate the top of this list: fewer strikes thrown, a larger share of them landing clean. It is also why some of the sport's most feared volume strikers sit well down the page despite landing more total strikes than anyone above them.

The metric has real blind spots. It does not know whether a landed strike was a jab that grazed a shoulder or a right hand that ended the night, and it does not account for the opponent's defensive quality. A fighter who spent a career facing wrestlers who shot early will land at a higher rate than one who fought elite kickboxers. Accuracy also rises naturally for fighters who do their striking on the ground, where a grounded opponent has far less room to slip anything. Treat a high percentage as evidence of discipline and control of distance, not as proof of superiority.

The most useful way to read this page is alongside output. Pair it with striking volume to separate the precise-and-busy from the precise-but-passive, and with our ELO rankings to see whether that precision has actually translated into wins against real opposition. The rest of our UFC stats hub carries the finishing, grappling, and durability numbers that fill in the other half of the picture.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How is striking accuracy calculated on this page?
We add up every significant strike a fighter has landed across every scored round of their career, divide by every significant strike they attempted, and express the result as a percentage. Nothing is averaged per fight or per round, so a five-round war counts for exactly as much as it should. We recompute the figure from the raw landed-of-attempted records rather than reading a stored percentage, which keeps the number consistent no matter how many rounds a bout lasted.
Why does a fighter need 500 attempted strikes to appear?
Without a minimum-sample floor, accuracy leaderboards are worthless. A debutant who lands three of four strikes before winning by submission would sit at 75 percent and top the list forever. Requiring 500 career attempts on the default view, and 1,500 on the high-volume tab, means every name here has proved the number over a meaningful stretch of octagon time.
What counts as a significant strike?
Significant strikes are all strikes at distance plus power strikes in the clinch and on the ground. Short, low-impact positional shots thrown from inside guard are excluded, which is why significant strike totals are lower than total strike totals. Head, body, and leg strikes all count equally toward the accuracy figure.
Does high accuracy make someone a better striker?
Not on its own. Accuracy rewards shot selection and punishing volume, so counter-strikers and heavyweights who throw fewer, more committed strikes tend to rank highest, while high-output pressure fighters throw far more and connect on a smaller share. Read this list next to strike volume and striking differential before deciding who the best striker actually is.
